Ribbon Pavilion
Incorporating Body Conscious design into the built environment.
The Ribbon Bench is a continuous ribbon-like structure that aims to provide private areas of peace for individuals waiting for the streetcar. Similar to the structure of a ribbon woven in between two wires, the Ribbon Bench features a hammock between the powder-covered steel benches. The design follows the Body Conscious Design movement, and provides four different levels of seating, in addition to a hammock, to encourage passersby to sit in new and unusual ways.
